I have never been to Bali

I'm going to Bali in June. I just realised that the election will be in May. Is it save to go just after the election? I plan to go for 5 nights staying in Nusa Dua. Is that enough? All I plan to do is shop, laze around the beach, and dine. How much will it cost to take a taxi from Nusa Dua in to Kuta? Any suggestions on good food but not too expensive?
