I agree with Jenni 100%. The classes she refers to is run by Janet DeNeff, or one of her trusted compadres. If you are a serious student of the culinary arts, you can so inform Janet in advance that you are not looking for the "tourist" course, but rather a serious introduction into Indonesian and Balinese cusine. Janet, and her Balinese husband run a tight ship at Casa Luna and their baked goods are infamous among Balinese, expats and tourists alike. She is a no-nonsense lady, up to her eyeballs with class, but willing to share with serious students. Her skills and knowledge are legendary, but to enjoy them, you have to be truly interested and serious. You may also consider visiting the best gastronomical event in Bali which is Ketupat in Kuta. I personally avoid Kuta except for business, but there is no other restaurant in Bali that compares to Ketupat. They are always most happy to share their secrets that result in the most satisfying of culinary pleasures. I don't eat to live, I live to eat and I've tried them all in Bali. Bon Apitite!
