Has anyone else noticed this? I have stayed in the cottage suite for the last 6 years, around 100 dollars a night. Next year, just their standard rooms are around 85 dollars a night! I've checked out all the different booking sites and all the same. I usually get a great deal through travel online, but nope. Checked Agoda etc etc all the same. Now,I know the owner has been doing a few reno's and built a private Villa in the grounds, front bar has been renovated etc. the rooms have not been refurbished inside to substantiate such a huge rise. It was one of the good value for money on the beach and close to everything places. Still cheaper than say Padma or Mandira, but hard to believe they put prices up so high! Unless they have a special, I'm going to look elsewhere, which is a shame as I have always been quite comfortable at Melasti. Not Five star, but well located etc
