Overall, costs of tourist type activities (daily transport, theme parks, meals, drinks, accommodation etc) is still very much cheaper in Bali than Australia.
This is aside from any shopping that you may want to do, which generally speaking is also cheaper.
In spite of all the doom and gloom stories about Aussies abandoning Bali because of executions, visa issues and so on, the numbers continue to grow.
This will continue as the likes of Lombok and other Indonesian locations lift awareness and drive more promotion on the benefits of Indonesian holidays.
There are still some great bargains available in terms of fares and accommodation in Bali, you just need to look outside of some of the old iconic favourites.
