Great forum.

I'm looking forward to first trip to Bali from 7/9 (staying at Niksoma).

Purpose of trip: get away from grey Melbourne. Sip G&T by pool. Lie on beach. Read.

That's the day itinerary. By night I plan to eat in style.

A friend laughed at me when I said I thought I'd pack a linen suit. Way overdressed, she said.

So questions:

What is correct attire for upmarket restaurants? I'm thinking linen/cotton trousers, nice shirt, decent leather shoes. Even if people don't wear suits they do wear shoes, don't they?

I have no interest in prostitutes but I'll be alone and I'm not a monk. Where in Legian area do single, older (late 40s) visitors get a chance to meet? I'm not talking cruising; I'm talking holiday fling.

Email open if there is anyone in similar situation similar 7/9-16/9.
