I would choose to talk to the person who did not look out of place and like a slob. The wine dribble would be irrelevant.
I spent many a holiday with holiday flings, (until I married my husband who also dresses in trousers and collared shirt at night when we go out in Bali), and there are many single, older women who appreciate being able to dress nicely and talk and get to know men who are not slobs and know when and where to dress well.
You will meet women who appreciate non slobs, believe me Bali is teeming with them !
