You may have worked hard, but you also benefited from housing costs that were a LOT lower than they are now (comparing like for like, not assuming that all young people want to live in mansions).

I am not young myself, but I do get sick of Boomers bleating on and on about how hard they worked and how spoilt younger people are. Many Boomers got massive windfalls from the property boom in the last 20 years and if it weren't for that, wouldn't be living the comfy lives they are now.

Also, the pension means testing is a joke. My mother receives a generous govt pension (ex teacher) that teachers now could only dream of and still qualifies for a part Age Pension with all the benefits that come with that. She admits herself that things have worked out ridiculously well for her and that we children will be doing it a lot harder.

End of rant.
