Today we booked very cheap flights Perth-KL on AA. Before the booking process was completed we got an sms from our bank - Cwlth - & without it we could not have completed the booking process.
Now, this was OK as my husband was here with his mobile. BUT I don't use a mobile phone. I couldn't read an sms if my life depended on it (as Whoopee well knows). So, if I try to book an AA flight when he's not around I guess I can't. Husband spends several months/year surfing in Indonesia & I need to be able to book flights to go over to see him.
Also, if we are o/s somewhere where we use a local sim card (or not even bother with a mobile phone (such as in Laos last Nov) then it seems we can't use AA.
Phoned the bank today & was told it's an AA requirement. Spent yonks waiting on AA Live Chat but was timed out half way through once I got to speak to someone. Phone call no good. Sent an email but no response yet.
So, anyone else had this problem & what was the solution?
Seems ridiculous to me that you can't book a flight on AA without a mobile phone #.
