Must admit I had forgotten about the smoking at restaurants etc in Bali as you just get so used to no smoking here. Have brought our kids up with a very anti smoking message so they were a bit confronted by it. But then again I think you just have to put up with it over there as am pretty sure they will never bring in laws like Australia + so many Europeans smoking everywhere for them its perfectly normal. We were lucky in that the ones seated near us were decent enough to wait until we finished our meal and for 2 ex smokers we appreciated that and most of the time we ate outside so it was not a problem. Mind you I did notice Gardenia in Sanur says no smoking inside and The Village restaurant is no smoking in the inside part so perhaps the tide is turning.
