Well Hubby and I went to bali for the first time since we were kids on our honeymoon in 2009 and this will be our second trip back with all the family. We were a little unsure of how ti play the money card when we went last time and ended up taking around $2000 cash with us and keeping it locked in our suitcase in the hotel room hidden as the hotel had no in room safe available and we would change around 1 - 200 per day.
This time around we are in a villa at the discovery kartika plaza and we have an in room safe but a few people have advised me not to use the safe or leave anything in a lock box at reception. As we have 5 people going we will have a reasonable amount we need available during our stay how do you secure your money in bali and is it really advisable not to use the in room safe??
Also i enquired about the CASH PASSPORT but was told that it is only available in US dollars. Really unsure what that means but anyone who has used one I would appreciate if you can tell me how it worked cause the lady at the post office was fairly dismissive and unhelpful when I asked and told her I was going to Bali.
