Aust Post only sell foreign currency cash passports. To get one in AUD you need to go to Travelex. Don't take one in USD as you will get charged for two conversions ie AUD to USD then USD to IDR. Cashpassport Visa debit cards also have no fees on EFTPOS purchases so that makes them cheaper to use when shopping/dining at places who have EFT. I would think somewhere as flash as the Kartika would have pretty high standards re security and staff would value their employment there.

I too suggest a mix of cash and cashpassport card. Have a great trip. Eleven weeks and counting till we go again. Yay!!
