I think maybe you did give the taxi driver 50,000 & he gave you the correct change. I don't know how you would have given him 500,000 or why you would give him 500,000.
I'm sorry you are not enjoying your first day in Bali.
Don't worry, you are not the only one who has paid a little more than they should have, especially on their first day. Trust me it will get better. Relax & enjoy Bali & don't think that everyone is out to rip you off.
