I refer to my JBR relating to our recent holiday in Bali. The purpose of a JBR is to honestly and factually report ones impressions of all accommodation and general matters including restaurants, tours etc. and to pass on information that may be of assistance to those planning a trip to this lovely place.
I find it upsetting to see a report such as that posted by harmony on 6 May at 8.36 Bali time.
That report states. "I do weddings and had a bride in 326 the other day.....what you are saying is not true." In response to that I simply state that the toilet bowl has been painted or coated with a paint or porcelaine mix which has not adhered properly and is flaking and leaving rough spots of a few inches around the bowl. These toilets do not flush in the Australian manner but firstly flood the bowl with water and then spin the water around before emptying the bowl. Consequental on that faeces are spun in the water and as the bowl empties some of the solid matter is left clinging to the rough spots in the bowl. There is no brush supplied and so one needs to either leave a horrible looking mess for the next person or remove the solids by scrubbing with toilet paper.There is mould in the shower recess.The water ran black with a gritty substance in it for 5 minutes before clearing. On one morning when we slept in and did not shower till 9am the hot water had run out.The other two properties we used during this vacation provided clean towels etc at the bed turndown time but the Sofitel did not.
Harmony also states that the fridge worked OK. I say the fridge was replaced due to being iced up. I do not know what pool she refers to when she stated that there was another close by. Harmony says all this is untrue.We were in on 23/4 and out on 28/4. We copped a bill for drink in the fridge that was dated 23/4, that is the date of our arrival. People can make up their own minds as to the honesty or otherwise of my JBR. I have no allegiance to any place in Bali and I do not have some arrangement with Sofitel to place my wedding guests in that property. If Harmony wishes to dispute any of this then let her provide some facts.
Let me say this, I would stay in the Santika again but I would not stay at the Sofitel again.
