Hi.Crossing the road isn't that big a deal.There is always a security guy on hand 24 hrs a day to make sure you get across safely.It is a bit of hassle when you have to keep going over there to get drinks , food etc. That however, should be sorted when they get the Crocokiss bar up and running. The Conrad looks a great option, as does the Peninsula resort, but i bet you would have to shell out more for these!
It's a hard call for families, because I didn;t see that many kids there during my stay.Perhaps that tells you something?
All I can say is that we certainly won;t be staying there again
