Just so that you are aware, two ladies at the front desk when we checked out most certainly DID inform us that people with children are often disappointed with their hotel. As I stated, this was not our reason for checking out, and would agree that the front desk staff SHOULDN'T have made the comment, but they DID. In our opinion this hotel is very highly overrrated and was a big disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I know that there are many, many much better options for your money in Bali. You say that the rooms are being renovated, which seems to prove the fact that they are in need of renovation. "Standard" should not mean "run down" nor "without the indicated facilities" (in our case, the missing room safe and non-functioning TV). Personally, being across the road really didn't bother us, but I can understand it if it did bother anyone. We should all be welcome to express opinions on a forum, and all I have done is to give an HONEST opinion of the Novotel Benoa. Cheers, Sue.
