Well....come on. Fess up. You all seem to be experts on all things Javanese so how many of you have ever been to Java????...with the exception of 1 person that has posted on here, who I know lives on Java, I don't think there will be a big showing of hands.

And how dare the Javanese travel to another part of their country on their holidays and disturb all the poor Australians because they get up early in the mornings.

I can assure you that I would rahter be woken up by the call to prayer at 5am than what I woke up to in the early hours of the morning the last time I was in Bali. A bunch of drunken Australians, yes Australians, using profanities as they all fell up the steps then proceeded to consume more alcohol on the balcony becoming more obnoxious than they were before they got home.

I have spent quite a bit of time on Java and don't have a problem with the people, or the way they live, but I guess that comes from having respect for the people and the culture of the country that I happen to be a visitor in. The next thing you will be asking for is the Indonesian authorities to stop them from getting the ferry from East Java to Gilimanuk unless they all promise to be quiet while they are on Bali. Oh yeah I can all hear you saying "you are just being stupid". Well that's no more stupid than expecting people to change their lifestyles just because they are upsetting the holidaying Australians.

Get a bloody grip. You wouldn't change the way you live to suit anyone so why do you expect the Indonesians to do it for you. As for the "ARAB ALARM" comment.....absolute ignorance on behalf of that particular poster.
