our hands up as we spent 4 weeks backpacking Java. It gets up our nose when people slag off the Javanese as we never met anyone that was nasty the whole time we were there. The Javanese would go out of their way to help us have a great holiday and believe me it was. I would suggest people travel to Java and see for themselves and I don't mean for an overnighter, people would then realise most nasty things said about the Javanese are myths. I have to add that most people would not know a Javanese if they fell over one. Our trip was one we will never forget and of the kindness from people we never knew and might never come across again in our travels.
