Hi all, we need some assistance. We had our first trip to Bali in March 07 and became friends with a driver we used. We have been emailing each other since then and he is a great guy. We are going back to paradise in July this year and he and my husband share a birthday in July so he has invited us to his home to meet his family to celebrate their respective birthdays. My question is, not being too familiar with the customs as such, we do not want to go empty handed but do we take something for the kids of the village, a present for him, something for his family or do we offer them money. We certainly want to give them something for their hospitality as I am so looking forward to visiting a traditional balinese family, but we also do not want to offend anyone.
