Current dilemma - Trying to organise sending money to friend/s in Bali.
My main bank account is with the Credit Union and it does not do TT O/S. So thought I would open an Ezy Action Account - the Woolworths/Commonwealth Bank one, have my Balinese friend as joint account holder or give them an authority to use. This was problematic as he is required to sign paperwork here in Australia.The reason I decided to do this is to get 2 cards as I will need a card to make deposits at Woolworths because they swipe it, even for deposits.
So, do people just open accounts for use by their Balinese friends in their own names and send/ give the card to their Balinese friends and then let them know the PIN.
Is it problematic for the Balinese to be using a card with your name and signature on it?
I have to move fast as I have had a kind offer from a friend to take the card to Bali for me, she is leaving real soon.
I hope you can understand my gibberish. I did a search and haven't been able to get the information specifically about any probs with the name on the card etc. Used Western Union last time and while fast, it cost $35 for the transaction. I would sooner give that to my friends.
Trusting someone can help and tell me specifically what they do.
