There is no problem in Bali for bikers. I was there 18 months ago and we had 2 of us on a scooter and found the traffic flowing and easy to understand. And these bikes will take you anywhere, Ubud, Kintamani, sanur or the bottom or a drain (its all harmless fun). VERY Cheap easy transport, Just get your international license before you go. RAA in SA for $15. Just need a passport photo and current license. I am returning to Bali in 3 weeks and will hire these 2 wheeled freedom machines again and do as the locals do. I would recommend you take your own helmet though. You can get a cheap helmet for about $40 each, and if you are worried about space to bring it back, Donate it to some local family who is riding 5 up with no helmet between them. they will appreciate it and it make you feel good. Have fun. Bones mend and cuts heal but the memories are worth it.
