The new "drive with your light on" rule for motorbikes [hardly anybody cares for the rule anyway] was introduces to stop or at least curb the "carnage" of motorbike accidents.
Half of all patients in Sanglah Hospital are motorbike accidents!!!
I would not call it harmless fun when you go down into a drain with an open fracture of your shinbone, or something similar. The "fun" really starts when you get an infection and your leg has to be removed. Lacerations of large areas of your back or face can seriously spoil your holidays too.
One of the best advises anybody can give you for your vacation is to stay clear of motorbikes.
