Give me back the Bali of old, shops without windows, cows in the padock next to the hotel, walking through farms to get to "tourist spots". I remember having to walk through rice paddies to get to Git Git water falls. Streets that flooded with any large amount of rain, walking ankle, knee or higher through water to get anywhere. But always with a smile on your face. i don't need flash hotels and fancy restauraunts - i still don't use them, althought the wife does like to shop and shop and shop and shop. Give me back the bars on kuta beach too. The Bali people still have that friendly warm smile which brings me back time after time.
