at the people who have said NO to taking anti biotic to Bali, do not take without a doctor seeing, but then said you can buy them over the counter Mmmmm say no more.
Too bad to those who say don't do it. Last trip we had major medical and both hospital and Bali international clinic gave my hubby tablets to take (no one can read what they are unless they read indo and or are a doctor so yes we trusted them) after taking 1 tablet hubby had a major reaction and I stopped them straight away and started ours, lucky I had some and did this as my doctor said lucky you had some of our antibiotics otherwise major infection etc etc. Even my doctor took the tablets Bali gave us off us to destroy, so that says enough for me.
So would I buy over the counter antibiotics I would say in one word NO, I feel safer taking my own, Ones that my doctor knows will be fine for us. People may disagree but I would never leave home without them.
I only posted to find out what other people take to compare and share. Everyone is different but if my son gets sniffles from air con etc he has to go straight on antibiotics or it goes straight to his ear and then can't fly (I know it would be a great excuse to stay longer but in reality it isn't as he is not well and gets lots of pain)
People have said bad doctor for prescribing them, I say good doctor for caring and making sure you are prepared. I have had my 1st aid now for more than 20 years so I am not silly and I am sure your doctor would know you well enough to make a wise decision. My doctor didn't agree with it at first but when I gave him all the reasons why he now thinks it is a sensible wise thing to do especially after our last trip.
Each and everyone to their own ;-)
I wished i never asked now :-(
