you have to be really careful how you go about it. I have bought some land in Negara, 2 are for 30 million RP. I believe 1 are is around 1000 square meter. 20 mins outside Negara there is land for 1 million Rp per are, so it is a lot cheaper in rural areas compared to city areas as generally there is no water or electricity.
I do know for a little extra you can have your name put on the certificate under the Indonesians name, then neither of you can sell the land without the others knowledge & permission. From memory it is around 3 million RP to change the name on the certificate, & I don't know how much extra to have your name added.
You must trust the Indonesian 100 o/o as even with your name on the certificate I think they can still borrow money against the land from the bank.
definately not something you want to enter into without knowing all legalities involved.
