However, I will show how ridiculous your last statement was:
You can't use our cost of and standard of living to that of the Balinese,...they don't have the same priorities,.you know nothing about economics,....while wages are low if compared with ours the cost of living is much lower,... THAT'S WHY YOU GO THERE,.. DUH!
The don't need the big mansions (which some actually have) the don't need the BMW or Merc. (although some have them) they 're happy with a simple home Balinese style,..they don't need the flash kitchen, because they can and are happy to eat from the local stalls,....like we eat McDonalds./ KFC the Balinese eat takeaway from the cart,.. they can actually afford to eat more regularly from stalls than we can from our takeaway...they don't need the flash bathroom,..no need for bathtub a simple shower and toilet,.. no need for hot water...cigs are very cheap,.. they have little interest in drinking booze even soft drink , the movies very cheap...many of the things we spend a lot of money on the Balinese have no interest in,...
I built a home Balinese style when I lived there only bedrooms and bathrooms a very small kitchen,.. all the rest dinning and lounge open terrace area only,...no separate rooms open pavilion style,.. cheap to build and the open plan because of the climate,...no need for any mansion...
The Balinese have different priorities when it come to material things,...having a bike instead of a car,..investing money instead of a fancy house...Yes some are ordinary and poor, but many are on Indonesian standard very well off
You know NOTHING of the real Balinese, accept what they tell you,.. which is based on what they believe you want to hear and believe...
Maybe you see a little more of the world and live in some of these countries like I have, you would then be more informed and enlightened...I wish you well in you trips to Bali, and what you do with you money,.. well that's upto you,....
