Couldn't agree more,.. having been a regular myself since 1976 as well as living there,.....
You no doubt have seen the many changes in Bali and its people,...tourism does unfortunately change people....the old Bali long gone...
I may at times go a little over the top myself, but the rosy picture painted by some is a little niave and at times very misleading to some genuine people looking for honest information.....
What people don't understand is that many go to Bali and hate it,.. usually because they 're not prepared,..having worked in the tourist Industry in Bali, had to deal with many of them,.. wanting to cancel and return home.....
I like your: and there are even some nice expatriates! how true, some become more Balinese than the Balinese themselves,lol.... and some find the best way to get on is to be as decietful as some of the locals.LOL
Yes you're right they 've a good and bad just like every where else,...But to the gullible the Bad are hard to pick,....the friendle smile and offer of friendship gets most of them most of the time...
I also have some very good long time friends among the Balinese,..and have been conned by the odd one myself,... even ones of us that are very experienced stll have problems getting passed the friendly smile
