I know how the sellers feel in Bali - I am just recovering from a garrage sale I had today and boy do some people drive a hard bargin. I sold some things that were unwanted gifts & golf prizes never used valued between $20 & $40 for $2 to $5 and some people still said will you take $1 but the best were the people who asked would I deliver a computer desk I sold for $5 - they were at a soccer game up the street and lived 40 kms away . I wonder if we look this bad to the Balinese and so miserable bargining over 30c.
I was also fasinated by the people who would offer 50c for a $1 item and ask if you had change of $50. Well I can report I sold almost everything - in the end I was giving things away and I wondered where the early morning vultures were and how they would flock back like a pack of seagulls if they knew there was something for nothing. I love to bargin in Bali but I might change my tact next trip and give them a bit more "slack". I feel as tired as some of the smillers look by 10pm Kuta but I the money in my bumbag is all mine and I'm in the AC house and going to ring for takeaway dinner
