flew Australian airlines 12/2/05 plane only half full, staff very pleasant, wonderful flight.Discovery Kartika ocean facing room - ocean facing means pool facing with glimpses off the ocean through the trees. Staff not really interested no other accomodation available and what I should have asked for is ocean views. Air conditioning in room quite poor ( not very cold) again no interest. Room itself very nice, wait staff etc.eakfast and dinners lovely. Bought dvd's from softcomp in Tuban buy 50 get 30 free very obliging. Excellent quality. Ate at Bubba Gumps - great fun, great food. Green garden great food and really cheap. bali Oztea cheap lovely food. Impala not as good as previously. Bought t-shirts, shorts, socks etc. from Dianne excellent quality. Almost ripped off by maney changer in Leguin definitely pays to check. bali is definitely becoming more westernised which is a shame. the people are still gorgeous and will definitely be returning next year, will stay at Ramada Bintang. New discovery shopping mall is quite cheap and beautifully air conditioned. If you get a chance go to the Bali Galleria to a restaurant run by an Australian Ann called the Australian Blue Ghekko she is finding life very hard- hardly any customers. she is in an open air shopping centre with not many shops open. Lovely food lovely staff. I told her I would put her name on the forum. Can't wait to go back.
