Well.....what a mess. After much consultation with all sorts of "experts" here is how it is. The Australian Passports office no longer accept marriage certificates by celebrants, churches or any damn one. What you have to do is change your name officially via Births, deaths......etc. This in turn changes your Birth Certificate to your new name. A little drastic I think and from now on I will be travelling with my husband under my maiden name as is on my passport. I won't be changing my birth name because that is who I was born as! I actually can't beleive this really but this is what terrorism has done to us! Hope this helps anyone in the future.
