It was 1 for a ring and 2 for a braclet. Not sure why they would want to keep the $2 coins for MARE as they are useless to them as they won't cash / exchange coins this is why the porters ask if you can change for notes(I don't advise you to do this unless you can do it for everyone as once 1 asks to change for notes then you end up with many others asking you)
