I believe they do in fact use the coins
- bash push and pull them into shape.
I remember on our last trip I bought more bangles (I'm sometimes
just an easy touch - yet they do make good gifts). I bought about
10 in April and another 6 in June.
I did a deal with some AU$ coins to buy some, and the others I paid for in Rp.
One of the street sellers actually thought there was gold in them !
(I had to set him straight, although he was still not sure).
I also bought back some ($1 and $2 coints) at the airport when we were
leaving to come home.
So, if they are not using them to make "things" maybe they are saving
them up to buy Australia ?? - at least thy will be able to pay in AU$
