12 years ago when pregnant and showing I was in Nusa Lembongan. I was in a big open air resturant with pool tables that over looks the beach. I was talking to 2 Balinese woman re-pregnancy and how I was hanging out for a cold beer or similar. These two lovely ladies were telling me how bad alcohol is for the baby when pregnant, they then went on to tell me I should do what they do which is to sniff petrol or glue. Needless to say I was horrified and tried to tell them how dangerous this practice is but they said "no,no,no, baby likes it, baby stops kicking and baby goes to sleep".These were 2 very nice,genuine woman who truly seemed to believe this is a healthy practice. Obviously the message re-alcohol and cigaretes had reached them but not the education re-inhalants.I have always thought if I had the means I should do something about this. 12 years have gone by and I don't know if this is widely practiced or just a isolated case but now finding this forum I thought I would post this message in case any of you readers have the means to investigate this and hopefully take it further.
