We have just returned from 2 weeks at Lembongan. The best way to get there is to catch the Perahma that leaves from the beach at Sanur each morning at 10.30 (need to be there at 10). The same boat returns each morning from Lembongan at 8.30. The cost is 45,000rp per person, no chid rates and they don't charge for boards.

There are heaps of places to stay. Most have cold showers but flush loos. No TV etc as the island generator is turned off between 8am and 4pm, but some hotels have their own generator.

We stay at Puri Nusa which is the second last bungalows along Jungabatu bay. The double rooms go for around 50,000rp and we stay in the family room out the back and this year spread into the room next door all for 100,000rp. But the loos in the family room needed bucketing to flush, but that didn't bother us, most of the other rooms have flushing toilets. Other good places are the Mandala, as you get off the boat, Surfers cafe and there are a few revamped ones to the right as you get off the boat. No rooms (except the resorts, Coconuts etc) will cost you over 100,000rp per room.

Nusa Lembongan is a really beautiful place, on our first visit as the boat pulled in our kids looked at us and said'this is what we expected Bali to be like!'.
