All I will say about the local boat is be sure to choose your day, and remember that about 2 go down every year with the loss of almost all on board. The straight between Bali and Lembongan can be horrendous, huge waves and even on flat days the current is extremely strong.
The local boat is fine if the weather is good but if it looks even slightly dodgy I wouldn't risk it, especially if you have anyone you care about with you.
