Keys to Renting!!
1. Be sure to Barter the price. Eg. during slow times the price of renting is a lot cheaper than busy times. They want your business.
2. They have you sign a deposit usually 300 U.S. on the car for damages. We did this and around the first corner the road was so narrow that we smashed the wing mirror off of our 4X4. To make a long story short, we found a garage that would replace and install a new wing mirror for 10,000 rupiah. Saving us the loss of our deposit.
3. The smaller the vehicle you can drive the better, Roads are narrow and mopeds are everywhere. eg. If there is only two of you don't get a big Isuzu Panther 4x4 go for the smaller tracker type 4x4 instead.
