Spent three weeks in Bali recently (a frequent traveller) and most of my meals were in warungs in a range of places. Some were away from the tourist places. Ate some wonderful food and it was cheap. I did not get ill.
My motto is: 'When in Bali eat the local food, why travel to Bali for western food.'
