Air Asia questions

I have booked our luggage of 20kilos per person. Is this only allowed to be made up of 1 bag? Or several as long as you don't exceed 20kilos?

Also, I keep receiving emails from AA asking me to web check in. What is the point of this if I have luggage to drop off anyway? I have also not paid for seating selection, going for the luck of the draw and hope they sit our kids with us. Actually I don't but anyway! If I do web check in I wont have any say over seat allocation will I? I was hoping to get a lovely check in assistant who will hopefully sit us together.

Anyway thanks for any feedback. We are flying from Syd - KL and then have other flights within Asia.
