Last month I returned to Oz from Bali. I had an opened bottle of vodka in my checked in luggage. The bottle was more than 3/4 full. It was confiscated from me at security point entering the airport. Security man said because it had been opened and the seal was broken I was unable to take it with me. Disappointed and annoyed I handed it over. So I took a mental note not to do that again... However, a friend returned from Bali last week and before departing they had a full bottle of vodka. I told them they will be ok if seal not broken to bring it back in their checked in baggage. Not the case !! It was also confiscated from them!!!
Moral of the story- don't take any alcohol open or unopened in checked in baggage! Purchasing in duty free would be best option to avoid disappointment!!
