Had only one or two drinks out two litre bottles whisky and Vodka (hadn't even paid for them as they were on my credit card) they made me open the suitcase and even although it was really well secured and wrapped solidly they wanted to confiscate it e being a Scotsman I told them no and asked to see the supervisor. The older guy customs said just let him go though with it as I was creating a crowd and the younger one with attitude said no so I refused him to keep it as I knew it was a scam he then got very agitated and said if it leaks on the plane there could be big trouble for him, so the answer was to get his suitcase wrapping mate to charge me $5 for each bottle for him to seal with the wrapping, each way bet for the customs man only a lesser profit however my own impression is (and I could be wrong) if you have bottles that are part full when leaving get your cases sealed and wrapped in the suitcase cling film thingy that way they can't say that it is dangerous if leaking as it is totally sealed. PS. it was a bit scary my wife was telling me to let him keep it and many travellers would have said keep it but I was really pissed and stuck to my guns got the booze home to prove it was worthwhile, so if you have booze in your case get it wrapped.
