getting through immigration / customs

HI, I am travelling to Bali for the first time early November. We are arriving in Denpasar at 1pm on a Saturday arvo. I am just wondering if there are any tips for getting through customs quicker? I have heard you have to stand for up to 2 hours waiting to get through normally. Is it better to have pre purchased 25 usd to save having to change money in customs for the visa purchase? Would that save queing?
Is it busier arriving in the middle of the day as we are?
