there is no real pattern of predictability for how busy arrivals may be at any time.
It only takes a slight delay, or early arrival of a large flight and the whole dynamics change.
Certainly the process seems to be better organised now, but as an earlier post stated, lengthy delays are still possible.
As for fast track, it's a personal choice as is "hot seats", business class upgrades and everything else.
We prefer to use USD for visas, but again this is our choice and just part of our regular routine.
