Just had what might come close to every woman's dream trip.
Started with shopping in Jakarta where all the cheap fake stuff is then up to Bandung where the real stuff is sold CHEAP!!! My understanding is that they manufacture all the real stuff and send all over the world but the Government somehow made a ruling that 10% of it must be sold through retail - I'm more than happy with that..
So sitting here waring my lilac Guess Skivvy that cost me $9 I'm delighted. My Hermes Purse was $15 and I priced it elsewhere for $160.
There was just so much it could make you dizzy. Stuff for men and kids also. Calving Klein - Burberry - Zara - Victoria's Secret - Just endless array of brands. I don't go after brands really - If I like the look of something the brand is an afterthought. With the good brands you do get quality though.
There is an area/street just dedicated to Jeans so I ended up with a pair of Nudeys that are the it jeans and give your bottom a better look - $19.. here over $200. Another lady I was with bought at least a dozen pairs for her and the daughters..
So in brief here are some pros and cons. You have to fly to Jakarta - overnight then hit shops/malls next day - overnight again then on the road for 3 - 4 hours to Bandung. You can squeeze shopping into that afternoon.. We managed about 6 hours....
Overnight in Bandung then another day hard at it then for me it was off to the Jakarta airport and the last flight to Bali. I'd suggest another night would have been good - not so rushed.
