Don't know where you heard that BOQ is giving a refund because they certainly haven't told me that is the case. I have filled a dispute claim in but they are not giving any assurances and it will take up to 6 - 8 weeks if or when I have been told on Visa credit card. And no hope on Visa debit card which I can't understand when the card was used in its Vias mode to purchase the air fare. In fact it is the straw that has broken the camels back as far as I am concerned with BOQ and I am closing my business & personal accounts and moving to another bank. Last time I was in Bali they had a glich in their system and accidently froze my business account which caused all sorts of problems & costs to me. Totally their fault and if I had listened to my gut and made the change then to another bank it may be that I wouldn't have lost my Bali air fare money. So from what I can see its not all clear sailing with getting and keeping a refund.
However as it appears that many of the travel agents were aware there were problems with A/A I think the powers-that-be should have seen this coming back in Dec 2011 and stopped the sale of any further tickets until things had been proven to be stable this would have saved many of us this heartache & stress.
Like many I am not too sure whether I will spend the money to purchase another ticket I wasn't sure about going again this year but the cheap A/A fares caught me in their trap. And trap it was because they would have known when they advertised the cheap fares that the company was going bust ... it was totally a fraudulent act.
Good luck to anyone who had a A/A ticket.
