My Bahasa Indonesian is far from perfect these days but at least I try.Like many others who try to learn over the years I have found that the effort is appreciated by locals.I caused a giggle many years ago when I asked for a cup of tea without sugar or milk.Fortunately our waitress was not offended when I said I did not want breast milk or sugar in my tea <LOL> I must say I have always found that when you make a mistake when talking Bahasa Indonesian that you are not laughed at - you are usually told your mistake & they laugh with you !
