Seat kicking happens all too often & it shouldn't. Had my fill of it recently.

If a polite request to the parent/s doesn't work then next time it happens to me (if I can't change my seat) I'll ask the parent to swap seats so he/she can feel what it's like. Being kicked in the back for several hours is no fun, especially when trying to sleep. And it's totally unnecessary. Put the child in an aisle seat & take him/her for walks.

We have travelled with our son constantly since he was a few months old - he was told how to behave while travelling.

Sure, some adults are offensive, too. Again, a polite request often works. I don't understand the problems with putting seats back - just put yours back, too. Pretty hard to sleep with a seat in an upright position. Nothing much to do on a plane but sleep. But if I was asked to return my seat to upright for a good reason, then I would, of course.

Basically, if you are flying with children then you are responsible for their behaviour, like it or not. Kids are kids and, for their & parents' benefit, they should be taught how to behave on planes & in other situations involving many people. Unlike at home, life on planes does not revolve around the kids.
