you can only have an Indo bank account if you have Kitas. The fact is that some bank officers will do it. I had all of the info as mentioned by pauljen but really had to use considerable persuasion to do it. The instructions of CBA in Australia to their branches is to just give a general letter of introduction saying that you have bank account with them. No specifics on accounts etc. You may have to push them for a stronger connection letter in Oz. A friend of mine had an account with Penin Bank & wanted to open another account but they wouldn't allow it without kitas.
