Cooking class. Can't boil hot water

Going to bali with friends and my girlfriend and her daughter (11) want to do a cooking class but my girlfriend is a terrible cook ( don't tell her I said that) so she'll need a very basic easy class. Something suitable for kiddies too. Any ideas. Personally the last thing I want to do on holiday is cook so I've never looked into it before. Thanks
