There are many countries with totally barbaric laws - in Iran a rape victim can be sentenced to death as an adulterer, for example - and I think we should all revile those laws rather than taking the attitude that it's none of our business.
In my view the death penalty is an appalling abuse of human rights, and I do actually feel quite conflicted about holidaying in a country that supports it (Indonesia). I don't have quite such a problem with their drug laws, although I do think they're ridiculously harsh.
