I think i should share a story which happened in Bali around 2 months ago. I don't know EXACT details but i know enough.

A couple of Australian kids had a fight whilst at a bar in Bali. One of them was apparently beaten up good and proper. Police come, arrest the one who beat the other kid up. The kid was thrown in the police station, whilst the other one was being fixed up by the doctors.

The kid at the police station had to first pay $10,000 for 'doctors expenses' to fix the other kids face.

Then, over the weekend, another $1,000 was paid. No reason given.

On the following Monday, another $6,000 was paid for his release.

So, $17,000 to get your kid out of jail. There you go.

Unfortunately this is not an isolated case, and the kid who did the beating was a thug who deserved to be thrown away for a few months just to see how he liked it. Goodness knows whats happened to the one who copped the beating.

I feel for the mother who had to pay to get the kid out of jail, and all the while he was on his phone and facebooking his story of 'bravado' to his mates.

Parents, teach your kids well. Teach them to respect others and to come on holiday for fun - not to beat up other kids in the process.

Lets hope we dont hear any more stories of kids being locked up again. Its a very expensive lesson for all.
