Thanks so much for your interesting and helpful comments and observations. I think you have encouraged me to stay at the Pullman to 'check it out'I like the idea of somewhere nice and new and by April think all the initial teething problems mentioned on tripadvisor may have been rectified by then!

Similar hotels to Royal beach I have previously stayed at in Bali have been Kartika and Padma. Although being trip no 15 have tried different hotels, have also stayed in Nusa Dua few times (back there in Jan again)and always stay in Ubud for a few days each trip.

I stayed in a deluxe room on the 2nd floor facing garden pool, nice quiet area. I would stay away from Anatara side as can be loud from next door and looking and not a nice outlook. I changed rooms after night 1 as did not like location of 1st room, 1st room off lobby!!!
Loved the 'quiet' garden pool, so tropical and private, most people obviously chose to sit at the pool overlooking beach.

Do try the SOS supper club next door 4th floor Anatara, fantastic views, very trendy, great spot to watch the sunset over a cocktail (or two)

I really enjoyed staying at Royal beach and would be happy to go back again but would like to try Pullman, being brand new, however the many negative comments have put me off, so have been happy to read your positive comments. Is it worth paying extra to book ocean view room? Also on most websites b/f is NOT included so I guess need to pay extra. Have tried emailing hotel with few queries.... message returned incorrect address? Seemed strange!!!!

If not been to Pearl restaurant, would highly recommend. Bn there twice both times lovely, everyone in restaurant was praising the high quality/standard of food and service. Double 6 street.Any more queries will be happy to help out.
